It was in my work as a graphic designer that I discovered that creating tight, overly detailed artwork left me feeling uptight, stressed, flustered and controlled. Letting go and getting loose with flowing watercolors soothed my nervous system.
It was in my painting process that I found the state of flow where time and space no longer held meaning.
It is the process—not just the product—of painting that has fueled my interest in art. The ritual of creating a sacred space with crystals, roses, and music and the surrender of dropping in and letting whatever wanted to flow through me to come through has fueled free and loose work that evokes similar feelings as when the art is being created.
